AMD OverDrive question

Because my board (ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3) won't let me offset the CPU voltage by more than -0.06v (I want to under-volt it), I wondered whether I can get AMD OverDrive to do what I want to do instead.

However, when I tried to under-volt the CPU (running at stock frequency) this morning, it didn't seem to be aware that I was already under-volting it, so the default setting was 1.3v. I tried turning it down to approximately what it's on already, then one further increment down, but nothing happened to the CPU voltage (according to SpeedFan and CPU-Z). I tried by a couple more down and the machine blue-screened.

Assuming that I get responses saying that I should be able to under-volt using AMD OverDrive, I suppose I should try setting the BIOS back to the default offset voltage and try AMDO again, but for now I'll hold off because I don't fancy making my machine BSOD several times for the sake of experimentation.

Ever try K10STAT, it allows you to set the vcore and multiplier for each P-State on most AMDs so you can setup your own Cool-n-Quite profiles. No matter what software tool you use you'll probably need to set the CPU speed/voltages to defaults and disable Cool-n-Quite in the bios first. Good luck!
