I HAVE A AMD 3600+ on a asus M2N-MX and a 2gb ram of unknown frequency(i dint bother to figure it out :p ) and 8600gt

now my #@!# board doesnt has any usable settings for over clocking this processor
it is like
only 0.05 volts increment in vcore is possible
and that makes my pc very hot
and the major problem being that the lowest vcore is 1.25 :(

now i want to know whether there are any windows tools with a wider range and scope for over clocking:(
and by the way whats the default vcore for a amd dual core

Which version of the X2 3600+ do you have? There were two models: a Windsor (2GHz, 256k, 90nm) and a Brisbane (1.9GHz, 512k, 65nm). Use CPUz to figure out which you have.

IIRC the stock voltage for the Windsor model was around 1.25V so that's why your motherboard won't let you drop below that point.

Take a look here for Xbitlab's overclocking results with a Windsor 3600.

I strongly urge you do not overclock from Windows. Use the Bios, or not at all.

well i think iam using the windsor model a 2 ghz one
now that i figured out the i simply cannot drop below 1.25 volts for this
i better dump this lump of silicon :(
cause heat generated cannot be controlled with stock cooling and with vcore this high
and i dont wanna invest another 30$ for cooling

:( i wish i was rich :( or i wish i had a core 2 extreme chip :))

Unfortunately, Overdrive won't work because the OP's mobo is Nvidia-based. Too bad, because Overdrive is a nifty tool.
