I want to spend about $200.00 on a processor.
I think this will buy me XP2400 or P-4 2.53 Ghz.
Which is the better Processor?
 
what type or work do you want to do with it?

id say get the best you can get (but if you are overclocking keep some money leftover for heatsink and all that )
 
If I were to buy now, XP 2400+ and Asus nForce2 motherboard. In about two weeks Granite Bay motherboards will be available and then at that time, Intel 2.4B and Granite Bay chipset motherboard would be the best choice. Either way you'll end up will a very fast system. Both cpus are exceptional overclockers.
 
It really depends on what you use your computer for, both processors will excel at different tasks. Take a look at the reviews at places like AnandTech and see which CPU does best at the tasks that are important to you.
