Hey all, I never really looking into the Notebook side of things and I figured I'd ask to feed my own curiosity.

I own an A6-3400 paired with a 6520g Laptop made by Toshiba. Its pretty nifty, running most of the games I play around low-med. I never bothered doing much research on what to buy and just went with what looked like the best for my budget.

I don't have any buyer's remorse, and i'm not looking into buying another laptop. But I am curious if AMD is a more viable solution in the Notebook market over Intel, or is their APU marketing and their fancy "radeon graphics" logos just that, marketing hype? I can't imagine Intel HD graphics are better, they never have been in the past, but I wouldn't know in today's market.

In all honesty there isn't a definitive answer to that question. Most people here will tell you that it is situation dependent. AMD is better in some aspects and Intel in another. If you want a gaming beast of a laptop you would look at Intel + a discrete. If you want something that is cheap and can occasionally game with you might look at AMD or a cheap i3 with a entry level gpu. There are just too many factors for a definitive answer. With each proccessor there is a place and time for them.

If you're using the integrated graphics for gaming, AMD. Intel HD graphics are pretty terrible. If you're happy having a discrete graphics card (with the downsides of a more expensive laptop and more heat generated, meaning a bulkier laptop with more fans), then go with Intel.
