AMD Opteron / Athlon 64 Performance in 64 bits with Ogg Encoder!

Hello everyone. After looking at various reviews invovlving AMD's 64 bit processors, I took it upon myself to construct approximate encoding times using ogg encoder to see what the performance would look like under 64 bit operating systems and applications, vs. all the current Winblowze 32 bit reviews who say the AMD 64 bit chips are decent high end performers. Here is the chart I have constructed:

Now, after seeing these 'probable' benchmarks I've computed using my crazy math skills, you may be wondering how I came to these numbers and what my sources were. I used three reviews altogether, this being http://www.linuxhardware.org/article.pl?sid=03/12/17/189239&mode=thread, http://www.gamepc.com/labs/print_content.asp?id=p432xe, and http://www.gamepc.com/labs/print_content.asp?id=axp3200. I took the performance percentage increase from the ogg vorbis tests done in the linuxhardware article using 64 bits and simply transferred the two percentages to the numbers in the gamepc reviews. To get the Athlon XPs in this, I took the numbers of the Intel processors from the Athlon XP article, and found the average ratio between the two benchmarks. I then shifted the Athlon XPs over using this transfer ratio, and it looks about right. Now, some may say there is an assload of error here, and I probably agree with them, but this is what I think you can expect performance using audio encoding under 64 bit operating systems and applications. Take these numbers I computed with a grain of salt, as I am not responsible if they destroy your life, rape your pet animals, or molest your computer with the latest windowze virii. Thank you for reading my post and any comments are appreciated, just make sure they're constructive and not an all out flame on this post please!
