There seems to be two category of opterons.

one group has higher speeds ranging from 2.2 to 2.6 with only 1 mb of cache to share for the two cores.

The other group has lower speed, ranging from 1.8 to 2.2 but with 1mb of cache PER core.

opteron 150 falls into group one, with only 1mb of l2 cache (speed of 2.4g). And 175 is in group two with 2mb of l2 cache (speed of 2.2g)

Also opteron 150 is about 160 dollars cheaper.

Which one should i get.

150 is single core, 1 meg, 2.4 ghz; 175 is dual core, 2 meg total cache (1 per core), 2.2 ghz. (I think)

if you want to multitask or use multithreaded apps, dual core >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>&gt
>>>>>> single core.

really. I didn't even catch that. 150 is not a dualie. Here I thought they were both dualies. I need some sleep. Well do the dual core opertons overclock well. Does anyone know?
