AMD Opteron 1214 AM2 Cooling Options?

Hi guys, I know this is a pretty old CPU, but I have this old HP ProLiant ML115 G5, I'm making it a sort of project for a media/file server (NAS), space for 4 drives, integrated RAID controller, etc etc. The computer had a minor run-in with corrosion, the CPU cooler is kind of shot and some rust on the chassis, fortunately, the computer POST, so no issues there, nothing I can't fix. So now I need a CPU cooler to replace the old one, space looks to be an issue, so I do not think 120mm cooler is going to be a good option, I'd like to get the price down as well.

Threads stripped on the screw holding the fan on.

I was thinking how about some of those newer CPU coolers like this:

Does this come with the mounting base?

No it doesn't, I forgot about those, but the bases can be bought on eBay for cheap.

I'm also, just realizing this computer seems to use a proprietary CPU cooler, it's square 72mmx72mm from my measurements, the mounting points are built into the case itself, I think I am going to need to figure out if I can salvage this thing.

Won't work. The real AM2, AM3, FM2 backplate is different. What will work is some Intel back plates and coolers from that era.

yeah I've just started seeing some stuff with that particular spacing, I do have some spare CPU coolers for Intel Core 2 Duos. I'm starting to think I could get an aftermarket cooler and use Intel specific mountings and that would work as the Intel Coolers I have use plastic clips.

Personally I would do this. Wash that cooler up really good. Use soap, hot water, toothbrush and maybe a scotch brite. That and WD40 will remove the corrosion. Then I would work on mounting the fan. You said a screw is stripped? Just replace it. Go to a hardware store or scavenge one from another pc. Or use 3M double sided tape. You only need very small pieces.
