So, I haven't actually followed AMD for quite a while and I'm lost with all their offerings. Last I remember was the Athlon/Phenom split but nothing since then. I tried to look on Wikipedia and it still doesn't exactly clear things up. What's the difference between all these products being thrown around, that is, Kaverni vs "construction vehicle" vs Trinity vs the APUs vs the cats? I'm confused.

FX chips are the higher end CPUs. The first number after the FX indicates how many cores it has. FX-8xxx has 8 cores, FX-4xxx has 4.

A-series chips are APUs. These have powerful integrated graphics, and 2-4 CPU cores. These are found in mid-range laptops and desktops.

E-, C- and Z-series chips are low end APUs. These are (respectively) intended for low end laptops, netbooks, and tablets.
