AMD motherboard help

Here is the deal:

I do a lot of development oriented work on my machines and therefore tend to run linux for a myriad of reasons.

Lately however, I have wanted to move away from my dual boot config to a dedicated linux box, but I need a motherboard. I have an old AMD t-bird 750, hard drive, 100Mbit NIC etc., so integrated solutions are not a must. With regard to DDR or SDRAM, I have a 256MB DDR DIMM from crucial rated for 200mhz FSB, which I would prefer to use rather than my leftover 160 or so MB of PC100 SDRAM.

The main thing is that it must be
a) Rock-solid stable (my current linux box is rebooted maybe once a year)
b) totally compatible with linux, kernel 2.4.x, probably the SuSe distro.

So I need help. What is the the best motherboard to meet my demands?

Thanks,

--------rhad

[edit] integrated sound would be cool though, (if linux-supported) [end edit]
