AMD mobos with Dolby Digital Live?

I've ben looking on the internet and it seems that the ALC880D or ALC880(D) codec has Dolby Digital Live encoding. Hopefully I will be upgrading soon and I'd rather stay with AMD than shift to Intel but I cannot find any AMD boards with Dolby Digital Live encoding. I've got a NF2 mobo now and I have seen the light and I am not going back to SB cards.

Anyone know of AMD boards with DD Live or am I stuck with Intel?

Just wait. I'm sure it won't be long before A64 AMD boards get some form of DD live.
If you want to upgrade, get a mobile XP for some 2.4+ goodness! 😎

i have good news and bad news:

Bad news - nvidia ditched soundstorm, said they would never bring it back, and that means no DD Live for a long time. If you're holding out just for this, you're gonna be holding out for a long time.

Good news - with PCIe x1 slots, there is now enough bandwidth to realistically use DD Live on add-in cards. Creative is working on a new line of PCIe cards, named Zenith, not sure if these have DD Live but Terratec is definitely working on a card that does for PCIe, so as long as you buy a PCIe mobo, you'll have support for it in the future.

Oh, yeah, and if you get an nforce4 or whatever mobo, make sure the manufacturers didn't decide to leave off the PCIe x1 slots. MSI did this with their NF4 SLI and their SFF Radeon Xpress 200 motherboards, and it's rediculous. Most other manufacturers were not this stupid, however, but still it's a good idea to check before you buy.
