Hey all, I just purchased a 2500+ mobile AMD XP Barton. I am planning on installing this on a K7N2Delta-ILSR nforce 2 mobo. There is a thread about this at xtremesystems.com on this issue, and they mention that you may need to mod the bridges, because the bridge config on the mobile models includes l4 and l5 open bridges. Do I need to close these? Anyone with experience using mobile xp's on nforce 2 mobo's could you please share your experiences? I am also wondering if the thoroughbred socket wire mod works with this (to unlock under 15 multi's on 2400 xp). Please post, all of us want info on this potentially highly overclocking cpu's! peace.
The thread is here Mobile 2500+ Overclocking
You can purchase these sweet chips at Mobile 2500+ @ Newegg
These badboys pull 1.88ghz at only 1.45w. If things pan out, I will have a 1700+ palomino core for sale at 30 bucks (will throw in a decent heatsink for 35) plus some shipping charge. Also available will be my current 2400+ thoroughbred. Will overclock to 2.13 ghz totally stable, though it is fairly stable at 2.2. Will post up to 2.4ghz. Will post in sell thread later.
