I'm on a Gigabyte 586sg rev2f MB. Got a cheap @ss Heatsink/fan combo with Artic Silver. Damn chip is frying! What's an ideal temp for a K2 chip? You should see the SiSoft mem scores on this baby 120/130!!! LOL! CPU scores aren't that bad though. 3D games, and apps run fine though. I want to get 500 Mhz outta this baby... a little too much to ask for though... maybe i'll underclock and run a fanless setup! MP3 Box? Hmmm... Peace out.
 
you really want to get it cool? pry off that metal plate on the chip and you'll see a few degrees drop. of course, you might also see the chip broken, but that's ok =)
