AMD issues you'd like covered?

I work as a freelance journalist and have been presented with the opportunity to write some stories on AMD. While I've tried to do as much homework as possible, I can't follow everything. If anyone knows of a) AMD 64 issues that haven't been covered or b) a really good case study of a company that moved to 64-bit, send me a private message here, or feel free to post. Thanks.

I want the technical specs on the architecture of their cores with DDR2 memory controllers and I want them compared to their DDR1 counterparts. 🙂

Yes, that's a big one. When will retailers be able to match AMD's new price drops?

I also like Kensai's question. I wanna know just exactly what the hype is all about with the new Socket M2. What does it bring to the table besides increased amperage and DDR2 support?

It sounds to me like you are looking to write a story on migration to AMD64 in the corporate/business landscape more than the actual technical details of the architecture. If so, you could always try contacting AMD's own PR department, I'm sure they have some success stories they'd like to share with everyone (though they'll be a bit biased, to say the least). Sun would be another interesting case because they have been migrating to AMD64 both on the hardware and software side since they got their hands on the Opterons. I havent heard of any companies that have had any major issues/difficulties integrating AMD64 onto their infrastructure (that doesnt mean they dont exist, just that I havent heard about them).
