AMD issues dramatic price cuts for triple-core CPUs

they aren't, they are 40$ and have been 40$ for a while now. I got one of those to replace my old X2 in my fileserver some time ago, for 40$. (40 + free shipping)
 
as for the original statement... the cheapest tri core is still over 100$ on the egg... and is slightly OVER 3 times the price of the same ghz X2... pass.
