Probably not a genius, but non-pro Zen3 threadripper is not coming. I want it customized. I want to build the pc myself and I want this pc to be based on the new threadripper. It is Obvious. There is no need to pick on me.
And whoever said a non-pro Zen3 threadripper was coming ? I mean like AMD, not rumors. So with 16 cores, what does the 5950x NOT do for you ? Or the 2990wx ?

Except for maybe heavy virtualization, probably nothing. I don't really need a threadripper, but I build PC's for bragging rights. I was fixated on getting the 3970x zen3 equivalent, but now I can't. I think I'll just get the newer 5950x when it becomes available.

I can say, aside from memory limitation and PSIE lanes compared to the threadripper, its a screamer ! I have 5 of them. Bight get number 6 since these prices are getting insanely low. $590 new.... Open box, less.
