AMD in major consortium group

I noticed that AMD is not major member of big industry org.... Like Wi-Media, PCI-Sig Wimax I thin wifi org also. This could have a major impact on them as once this starts to pick up then they will be left behind..... What do you think

um .... AMD doesn't deal with anything like that that. They don't care about wifi or PCI; they rely on other companies to supply this tech to their processors. All AMD does is make processors and flash memory.

And BTW .. they are a member of the HyperTransport consortium.

Well I know they licensed the 8151 from AMD because they used it in my K8USA I had last year, but I didn't think they had rights to produce all the 8000 series chips. I will have to google that up as I am curious now

Well, a short search seems to point to the 8000 series being made by AMD. ULI rebadges the 8151 BTW. More interesting is that I saw they may start producing chipsets as an outsorce for their partners :Q text
