>Whitedog the round's on me ;)

Seriously though isn't it "normal" the Temp diminishes // to core architecture?

=>
T-birds>Palominos>T-breds>Bartons?

>DAPUNISHER

Are there mobile bartons yet? coz they sure aren't power hungry according the AMD's Data Sheet

yeah, t-birds ran very hot, but the xp's are better, aslo if you run cpuidle, it lower the temp alot when your not at full load

I'm checking my 1.4 Athlon in a FIC AD11 m/b. Stock hsf on the CPU, and a single front bottom mounted case fan, both running at about 4700rpm. Starts off about 36c, it's been less than 5 minutes now and it's already up to 45c.

Edit: Seems to have topped out at about 55c with no load. This is at least 10 degrees cooler than the 1.2 it replaced. But the retail hsf was a better one than came with the 1.2 as well, so I don't know how much of a difference that makes.

As I recall the 1.2 usually ran just under 70c, with the stock (and rather wimpy, imnsho) hsf. So yes, I'd say anything in the mid 50's should be fine.

I have the barton 2.5+...running stock speed wiht the Thermaltake Smart and silent Volcano 9...temps at about 52 ...and can hit 62 easy when gaming.i know those are about the temps of the stock fan..but this thing is QUITE!!!...i have the control nob to get this fan goin faster when gaming..but when idle and liek now just browsing online..i can turn it all the way down!!!...RECOMEND Barton 2.5+ and this fan..AWESOME
