35 bids and already up to $1,075.00... Bad move on a card that comes without a warranty and obviously from a seller who doesn't care about being on the up and up.

I wonder if the retail card will be $800 or end up being cheaper than that.

I want one. Count me in...and for some reason, I bet, I won't notice any problems with drivers, as much as the usual suspects like to perpetuate. Some things never change, lol...I'll report back when I have this badboy in house. Of course, I don't mean the ebay one..😀

It's well known that AMD is working on fixes for x-fire to alleviate issues relating to microstutter and such.

My guess is similar performance as the 690, higher power consumption, better price, CF issues galore... 1970s muscle car, louder, hotter, gas guzzler.

I know, I understand that...and I think it's a great thing. I was referring to the constant bemohning about drivers, especially from those who don't own an AMD card, (same people) all the time, who like to complain for the sake of complaining; It's like VISTA with these people.; and I happen, to think Vista was a good OS. Trust me, I have both vendors cards..I don't pretend one is better than the other in the driver dept..because, I can tell you the last Nvidia drivers suck on BF3..which is the only game I play nowadays. But, I know, it'll be fixed soon, or I can just go back. Also, I haven't had any major driver issues with my other box with a 7970. Nevertheless, it's all good.

I dunno BF3 seems ok to me, the game is bugged though and likes to CTD randomly from MP games, unless that is now fixed. Been a while since I played MP.

You could be right...and I'll admit that. BF3 does have a ton of issues, and it seems like it happened right after that major patch. So, I'll take that back regarding driver issues...Either way, hopefully, the next beta fixes it.

Doubtful...BF4 is on the way.

Now it's up to $2,025.00. Yeah. 😱

Also, according to Videocardz,

WhyCry (in the comments) said:
[The seller] said that the retail model would be priced at $1299, but I found that highly unlikely
Assuming this model is legit, my guess is that it has a lower core clock than the retail model, especially with the rumors saying that the retail model will have a fairly high clock.

Is someone really stupid enough to spend this kind of cash on an engineering sample? I doubt this transaction ever really sees the light of day. Oh, and he's charging $50 for shipping as a final kick in the nuts.

Next week the buyer will get a real surprise if they actually release the 7990 then.

Over $5k wth?

I just checked the ad on e-bay ( now over $6,000!). If it is an engineering sample, the "fine print" when it was given to this seller by AMD most likely included a prohibition about resale etc, etc. I bet both the seller and buyer will be hearing from AMD's legal reps.

Without a release from AMD, I would never bid on this.

I wonder if AMD is aware of this sale?
