AMD has lowest employee satisfaction among tech cos

Yeah but I bet worker productivity and efficiency is at an all-time high though.

Hector is just doing what he can to make sure that when Dirk takes over there will simply be no mathematical possibility of Dirk scoring any worse than Hector on just about every metric of success by which CEO's are evaluated. What a guy! As a successor, you can't ask for a better setup.

(I hear Yang, Ruiz and Barret all went to the same school for superior american management)

One also shouldn't forget that ANYONE can sign up there and rate anybody the way he wants. So I would take those ratings with a grain of salt. But I'm sure that the real approval rating of ol' Hector isn' too high at the moment.

wOOt hector is finally steppign down?

A bit too late tho.

AMD should focus on the GPU sector right now.

Since Intel is screwing Nvidia, ATI can and has the chance to grab the performance crown.

I thought everyone on Earth knew that Hector Ruin was the worst thing that could ever have happened to AMD. If we know it, how could their employees not know it?

If you were an AMD emplyee, how would you feel? 5 years ago it looked like your company was going to grow like crazy, and you probably with it. I imagine that Jerry Sanders was a more likeable, less of your typical CEO type, probably easier to work for. Now you're watching coworkers lose jobs to save money hoping that the company your work for can stay afloat so you can keep paying the bills. I don't know how much revenue/profit the GPU portion of AMD accounts for, but my guess is it won't be enough to keep the CPU section afloat forever.

What do you think the passengers approval rating of the captain of the Titanic was after it hit the iceburg and they were watching the ship sink? Kind of similar here. 🙂

well I don't know who messed up but whoever said to sit on their X2 design and do no R&D for years is probably the one responsible for their recent demise. The employees just unfortunate victims of their bad management decisions.

Jerry Sanders was known for being a real bastard at times. It was his company and he ran it like he owned it.

It's not that they didn't do any R&D, they just overreached, and ended up with cancelled projects. When you are a one product company in a business with product cycles of four years, that hurts.

What does the future hold for amd on the cpu side of things? Will they ever really ever be dominant like they were say three years ago or do they have new cpus in the works to compete with intels upcoming line really cant find much credible info on this .I have to say i had a 790fx chipset motherboard but the sb 600 was junk.I know the fusion project is supposed to be something but i guess we will see

I see that as a somewhat misleading title. Whether you like your CEO or not is one of many factors that contribute to being satisfied / dissatisfied with your job/company.
