AMD gave PR ratings to MP also? I thought it was just for the XP's?

What you see is what you get... AMD is going with the performance ratings on ALL future CPU's.

I agree with it really... what most people don't relize is that Intel has done the same things with the P4... they just embed it using funky multiplier and FSB numbers to come up with super high ghz. 2ghz... 2.2ghz, phth... stupid. The 2ghz barely beats a 1ghz P3 in any benchmark.

I have a sneaky feeling that for intel it's really their multiplier times 100mhz fsb, not 400mhz. So, I think the 2ghz is really more like 900mhz.

Someday all will be known.

Yes, the PR rating was always intended for the MP processor line as well. It is also very likely to be used in the K8/Hammer.

Not quite all processors. The mobile Athlon4/Duron are not PR rated. Nor are they likely to be anytime soon.

The multiplier of the 2GHz P4 is 20X. 20X100MHz=2GHz.
It's naturally going to be based upon a 100MHz FSB as the FSB DOES run at 100MHz... it may have equivalent throughput to a 400MHz FSB, but it doesn actually run at 400MHz.
Just like AMD has a 100/133MHz FSB in reality, and their multiplier is based upon that... not their equivalency of 200/266MHz.
