There are several intel i5 + HD7950 builds that will produce better framerates and cost less. Basic rule of thumb is spend more on the video card than on the cpu+motherboard. You are dropping $330 on the cpu+mobo and only dropping around $250 on the video card. Especially where you are, an intel build should be cheaper since they are surely more popular.

I am going for AMD mainly because of the future proof and generation compatibility !!!!

Here in the States, yes. But the opening poster is in India, where tech products are overpriced like hell, and I wouldn't be surprised if Intel parts are priced very expensively.

I think a FX8320 or FX8150, if at a lower price, would be nearly as powerful for potentially less. I wouldn't get less than a 7950 for a GPU. Try to find a less expensive cabinet and don't both getting extra fans for the cabinet; that should help you get enough money for a 7950.

As far as gaming is concerned, the GPU tends to be the most important factor. That being said, the one that you are getting should be sufficient for at least mid settings at 1080p resolutions for many games. Any higher and you might run into some serious framerate issues

These two statements together don't make too much sense. A 32" TV is most likely going to support 1920x1080 and 1280x720. There is a huge (2x) difference between the GPU requirements of a 2560x1600 display and a 1920x1080 one. Can you confirm that your TV is a 1080p (1920x1080) model?

Not necessarily.

i5 3570K: Newegg $220, Flipkart Rs. 14931
FX-8350: Newegg $190, Flipkart Rs. 12709

In the US, the i5 is 15.8% more expensive.
In India, the i5 is 17.5% more expensive.

That's not a huge difference.

Thanks for your suggestion.....but i choose AMD over Intel mainly because of the generation compatibility.

My TV resolution is 1366 x 768 !!!!

Generation compatibility is almost useless if future generation AMD CPU's are still worse for gaming than the current generation Intel CPUs. Not only that, but the next generation CPU is almost never a good upgrade path, you should have two generations between your CPU upgrades if you intend to gain substantial enough increase in gaming performance for your money. And what will you do with the old CPU? Sell it? You might as well sell the motherboard with it and upgrade to whatever the new CPU requires (intel).

There are a handful of better reasons to prefer intel: power consumption, performance per core (gaming performance), backup integrated graphics.

My TV resolution is 1366 x 768 !!!!

Upgrade it to 1080p. Your budget can take it.

Drop the processor down to a FX 8320 or i5-3470.

Choose a different board as the MSI one doesn't oc as well as other options

Drop down to a 650w psu as it would be plenty

and at least get a HD 7870 Tahiti or HD 7950 if you your budget is that much

Edit: Don't expect high overclocks with a Hyper 212+

true, wouldn't want to downgrade from plasma. But I think you'll be very easily able to tell 1080p from 768p from the recommended viewing distance of 32" tv

Agree 100%.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure that the OP mentioned his budget (I could be blind though).
