Yeah, this is an older 8-core FX CPU, not Ryzen, so not really recommended, but it's cheap! For less than the retail cost of just the 8-core Ryzen CPU, you can get this older tech, with CPU AND mobo. Granted, if you game, you'll want Ryzen hands-down, but there are still some budget niches for these older FX CPUs.

They over clock well. Perform well. Money saved can buy a Killer graphics card that can do real damage to a Ryzen system of the same cost. Especially if you have DDR3 laying around and some hard drives. They have not fixed the 1080p performance of Ryzen yet have they? Til then. This is a great deal if you need a lower cost gaming system.

Side note. I got a FX8300 for $85 the other day when Ebay had a $15 off sale. Newegg store. Bargain chip right there. OC to 4700mhz.

If you game, and with a 1070 or better, this will do just fine. I run 3 monitors, and it still does just fine for what it is, and if you just game at 1080P, you wont need a ryzen at all, so this is a GREAT deal for a gamer on the cheap. Gaming at 90fps, vs 200fps wont look any different at all Your extra money in your pocket will however :O

That mobo on the other hand, I just checked it out, is kinda on the suck side for gaming. No spdif, no 5.1 audio out, no real usb's out, so I would really look for a different mobo to make use of this great cpu if you plan on gaming with it. Many can be had on ebay, or in the fs/ft section that can really make use of that chip for good gaming and overclocking it.
