AMD FX-55 Vapochilled to 3.1 with 6800 Ultra SLI benchs!!

Wow.

You could actually get playable framerates using HDR effects in Far Cry at 1600x1200 (and you could even use AA if it was possible and it'd still probably be playable).

Its good to see that in modern games (Doom 3 and HL2) that going SLI does actually help quite a bit.

Looks like I'll be upgrading my FX55 before the GT's! It's damn good to know my GT's will last a while.

WOW! What a load of crap.

Its amusing to see them showing the 6800 GT/Ultra doing twice the FPS then ATI's X850. Tho what I find the most amusing is that when it came to benching CSS/HL2 (ATI's baby) the ATI card was taken off the list for comparing.....

damn now i feel like my crappy slow ass 3200+ is making my comp super duper slow now cus the 6600gt in their benches are getting higher fps than me............

I wouldn't put to much faith into what those benchs say. Not only do they not show the ATI card for the CSS/HL2 tests but Iv read two differnet posts over at overclocker club of people getting 3-3.1Ghz on just water. For a vapochill, I would expect 3.2-3.4Ghz.

notice they also dont show the CPU models for the radeons

edit: and for far cry: x850 outperforms 6800ultra w/ 1600x1200 w/ 4x FSAA and maxed AF
radeon also not present for halo

Good God!!! That's sweet, but what about stabilty and "life expectancy". Things bound to fry eventually.

3.1ghz isnt anywhere near overkill on an fx-55 oc. 3.1ghz is actually kinda low for a vapochill. people have been easily getting 2.9-3.0ghz on air wiht the fx-55 because of the strained silicon.

Give me a link where someone got 2.9-3.0ghz on air.

Well here is one LINK showing a FX-55 at 3.1Ghz.....Give me a moment and I'll find another at 3Ghz and I'll find the one that is at 2.8Ghz on Air. Another LINK and I'm pretty sure they are using Aircooling...

wow, I am so jealous.. actually if you look over at Futuremark's ORB you can see alot of benches on SLI systems already and there are a good deal of very impressive scores there already.

The points that have been made about the omission of the ATi scores for some benches certainly has merit. However, if the OC'ed cpu with SLI benches are accurate, this is good sign for SLI... You could get an SLI mobo with a decent, reasonably priced proc (3000-3400) now, and upgrade the cpu when the 4000 and above models come out and drop in price and see a tremendous boost for your investment.

Codecreatures looks awesome I'ma have to look for it once I get home.

Mikey you changed your icon! Threw me off there for a second.

+1 - I doubt this is reliably reproducable.
