Which one should i get if i am going to make a system for games. I do not really plan to upgrade it at all until i buy another system in about 3-4 years (except maybe ram). Does the FX-53 show a huge performance increase over the regular 3200+? Would it really help for games, or are they mainly affected by the vid card? Thanks

Instead of paying the premium for the FX-53, just get a water cooling setup and OC the 3200 to past FX-53. Spend the extra money on getting some nice speakers or monitor(s) or something.

I dont really know how to overclock, and i would be worried about screwing up the system by doing that. I already have a decent monitor and speakers, and with the FX-53, i am in my limit, im just wondering if it would be that much better for games than a 3400+ without any ocing.

Just get the 3400+. They are close in many games. Check the benchmarks if you really need more info.

yep. FX-53 only if you want to waste your money, or REALLY REALLY want the bragging rights

Yeah, spend the money on buying games, or something like some raptor hard drives or more memory. The gap is nowhere near large enough to justify the price. Truthfully, I would recommend going with the 3200 over the 3400 as the price gap isn't really good there either. Since you're not into OCing then go with the 3400.

If possible wait until mid summer (end of June), AMD and Intel will be bringing out new motherboards and processors, and you'll be able to get a faster processor for about the same price as whats out now.

If you're getting a nice processor like that, make sure and get at least 1GB of RAM, I would say more so you don't have to upgrade it later. Also, spend the extra on a nice video card.

Go with the 3400+.

Not totally true. There has been a lot of talk about being able to upgrade the socket 754 chips and waiting for the socket 939... Well, you can be certain that socket 940 will be around for a while and there will be new chips. If that is worth the extra cost of the chip and ECC RAM is debatable. I'd opt for the A64 3400+ myself.
