Overclocking is essentially the only way to try counter the poor performance. If you need to replace the CPU you can just as well go Intel for the real upgrade. AMD just havent got anything serious to offer.

So yes, its normal so to say.

4100 should hit 4.6Ghz with relative ease shouldn't it?

My CPU hits 50-70% load in BF3 and that's with 2 more real cores than you so I'd imagine your dual gets hit a little harder. Surprisingly your frames are right where they should be for a GTX 560, 50's or so with some ultra settings on is about the best you can expect from that card. You can oc both cpu/gpu for an extra 5 to 10 fps at most, those are good results though.
