Rumors of such a move have been buzzing around the industry for months. Now two days before AMD is due to announce its Q2 results -- in which it has placed bets on flash -- the company has formed Sunnyvale, Calif.-based FASL LLC, integrating AMD's and Fujitsu's flash memory businesses with a 60/40 percent respective ownership.
