AMD: Fighting the unbeatable foe

AMD: Fighting the unbeatable foe

AMD's future isn't clouded in any great mystery. The company is burdened with debt, is losing market share and appears destined to become an even smaller player in its core MPU market. Recent strategic moves at AMD are not making a dent in Intel's leadership: The acquisition of graphics IC vendor ATI Technologies hasn't lived up to expectations and becoming a fabless IC vendor isn't a game changer either.

But executives at AMD haven't yet come to terms with their second-place status. On the contrary, they continue to pursue actions they believe would level the playing field and make it possible for them to beat Intel.

I posted this before but is was a pdf at the time, now EEtimes has released it in web-link format so I thought I'd repost as more people are apt to go to the effort of reading it now.

This 5-pg article actually tells it like it is in some simple financial terms and realities. (capex #'s for example)

You obviously didn't see who was the OP of the thread you linked, nor read the OP of this thread.😀

edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you congrats.

only reason they are fighting is because Intel is unbeatable now, back in the days of X2s A64s, they beat Intel and there was no more fighting spirit from them.

By "them" are you referrring to AMD or Intel in your sentence? It's not obvious to me as to which company you are saying lost their spirit. My assumption would be AMD?
