Although amdedge is a good site, you should still FOAD for spamming.

Not Spam - Genuine AMD promotion. Oh ye of little faith.

Some of you need to log out and re-login to the site, because I've heard now that they can only see the memory giveaway. Here's an excerpt:

We're giving away six AMD Athlon? 64 FX-55 processors
to eligible members. Imagine building your high-end rig with today's ultimate PC processor as the centerpiece. To be eligible, you need to be at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the United States (including the District of Columbia). Eligible participants are entered in the drawing when they register for AMDEdge by midnight (CT) on January 30, 2005. For complete rules.

I signed up to notify you of a good contest. It is from AMD, not me. Some of you are unbelievable. Even in the Off topic section I get complaints. This is almost as bad as the HardOCP forums.

:) Peace and Love :) I love Anandtech, visit all the time. Perhaps this post was too, "Off Topic".

I think what is rubbing most people the wrong way is that you are promoting a givaway in which someone must sign up for your site to participate. Since you are obviously not a regular member here (you have 3 posts all in this thread) it is seen as an attempt by you to divert membership away from AnandTech to your site. I hope you can see why such a thing would be frowned upon and called spam. :)

A regular member could get away with posting something like this because they would be doing it for the benefit of AT members as well as for their site. When you do it, it looks like it is only for the benefit of your site.

It isn't his site unless he works for AMD. It is an official AMD site.

Definately not spam. AMDEdge is a new AMD Endorsed project that informs computer enthusiasts about new product releases as well as informs them about the latest AMD Technology. They have drawings like this pretty often, saying if you register by "this" date then we will be drawing "this" prize. Good site

Isn't it funny that no one with more than zero previous posts ever happens upon one of these 'great deals'?
