amd e300 HD 6310 crossfire?

Hello. I know some of the AMD apu's can crossfire. My cousin has a mini- tower with the AMD e300 APU with HD 6310 graphics. I was wondering if it would hybrid crossfire with

I posted both because one states it is 128 bit and the other does not state what it is. It seems some of the 6570's are 64 bit and others are 128 bit. Thank you for your help.

I don't believe you can do asynchronous Crossfire with anything under an AMD A-series chip.

Regardless, a Radeon 6570 is many times more powerful than the Radeon 6310. Even if you could Crossfire, there'd be very little benefit.

Of the two cards you listed, go for the first. 2 GB will not help this card much at all in games.

True, but more to the point is what games are you planning to play,and will you be cpu limited not matter what. The gpu portion of that chip is already more powerful than the cpu. I am not sure you have the cpu power to utilize even a low end card like the 6570.

I couldnt find any benchmarks for the E-300 in those games, but I think you will really struggle if the games are playable at all, even if you add a graphics card.

Edit: The E-300 is basically a netbook processor, not very well suited for a desktop or even a full size laptop unless all you want to do is web surfing, e-mail, watching videos. Notebookcheck did test chip, and it could run Starcraft 2 single player on low settings, but they did not specify the resolution.

Ok. I wasn't expecting to get quadcore performance and expecting to have shadows and eye candy turned up. I would think that a lower end E-300 will run non demanding games at low settings. Was just curious if there was an option on crossfiring the APU. I can't find anything that states wheather you can or can not.

I remember reading an article -somewhere- (can't find it...) where they tested an E-350 with both the onboard GPU and an external HD5450 (essentially the same chip as the onboard). The conclusion was that an external GPU made no sense, as the onboard was already CPU-limited. And the E-300 is already slower then the E-350, so I severely doubt if you'll see any performance improvement at all...

This. I wouldn't use an E-350 (or E-300 for that matter) for 3D gaming. Anything more intensive than Facebook, probably won't run too well on those CPUs.

If you wanted a desktop APU that could run games, you should have purchased a Trinity-based system, not Brazos/Zacate. Sorry.
