I'm about to get a new system. My previous two systems are Pentium-based. Somebody recommended me to go for AMD Duron, but I'm not sure if I should give it a try. A system with PIII-667MHz costs about the same as AMD Duron 700MHz in my place. Any suggestions?

Duron is excellent performance for the price.

I'm currently running a 600 in a MSI 6330.

waiting on a 700 and the asus board.

No plans to overclock either system at all.

The computer store guy was recommending me to run the AMD Duron 600 on MSI 6330 motherboard too. He said I can use the MB for AMD Thunderbird if I want too in the future. Anyway, if ASUS MB a better choice?

Iam going to buy the Duron with a Asus A7V. I can buy a modified clock locked killed Duron 600 garantied at 900, and if they dont do it, you can return them. Its 200 (can), so thats pretty sweet. A Duron 900 for a better price than a Duron 700. :)

I like, a lot.

O yes, I would say that the Asus motherboard is better. They are a really great company, so Iam guessing the quality/features in general will be better.

Hi,
Can yall please tell me where to buy the overclocked Durons? I am very interested in buying one pre-tested.

Thanks,
Jay
