AMD dropping the ATI brandname?! WTF?!

ummm... i'm thinking bad idea? then again, i thought spending $5B that they cant afford to buy ATI was a bad idea. and the jury is still out on that buyout?


On another note:
And later this year, AMD will ship its first Fusion APUs (single die CPU/GPU).

Finally! I was wondering when this will happen since they bought ATI 4yrs ago.

i vote we move this to Graphics forum so the eventual ATI vs nVidia troll fighters can argue there to no end..

That sounds about right for a forward thinking, thorough design and engineering of a next generation processor. Though, I suppose I have no idea if Fusion is supposed to be next gen.

Man, I'm so out of the hardware loop.. guess I should visit the main page more. :p
