My new Athlon 64 2800 w/ MSI nForce3gb neo plat board will be delivered today. I just read that there are AMD Athlon 64 drivers available. Are these necessary? What benefit will I get from installing them? I will be installing a fresh copy of Win XP, by the way.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

If your talking about 64bit drivers, they would only work if you had win64 beta running. All you need is the lastest chipset drivers for your mobo and you will be fine.

which driver are you referring to? it's clear that no one knows :p
I always install the drivers that come with the mobo (not necessarily the ones on the CD, but newer versions of those) I'd just recommend doing the same....
