Rockhard ,just for the record my last CPU was Intel, also I thought AMD was cheaper then Intel in all Countries or am I wrong?Anyway right now AMD have really good processors.

Yeah, intel 1 ghz = ~650-750, amd 1 ghz = ~ 400-450... it's still higher here in US also.

Yeah i just got my gig tbird because i couldnt stomach paying nearly £400 more for the Intel 1ghz.
Then where the hell do u get the Intel from? The AMD 1ghz are real easy to get hold of :)

Rockhard ,also when you compare price to performance (Intel 1Ghz & AMD 1Ghz)the Intel 1Ghz is just not worth the extra money.

Yeah ur right there :)
Got a sneaky feeling tho' that intel are keeping the P3 production scale at a standstill at the moment so that they can deliver the P4 en mass?
Heh, dont think they could take another drubbing over their recent paper launches ;)

I think most of us are not to sure on how well the P4 will do both in performance & sales ,yes it`s Intel so it will sell but will it live up to Intel`s hopes & the buyer?

Heh, by the time the price of the P4 and the i850 motherboard and RDRAM come down to real world levels we'll be graced with QDR DDR SDRAM for AMD and probably 2 gig Mustangs with a nice short pipeline (i hope) making it outperform the P4 maybe?

Looks like AMD are in a strong position for the future, let`s hope they don`t let us down.

Heh, i dont really care who comes up with the goods as long as my pocket keeps some change in it ;)

What we need i both AMD and Intel to offer Processors and Platforms that are within 5% of each other in benches and the real world. That would make me so happy as then we would see Intel having to bring their prices to a more acceptable level just like AMD have.
Then we'd see some REAL competition on prices :D :D

Sometimes I wish we had more CPU companies ,that way we get more choice but I guess we would get more Hardware & software problems to deal with.

mem Dont discount Intel so quickly ;)
Theyre up to something and if those leaked memory benches are anything to go by then AMD are going to have to get Quad pumped DDR SDRAM to the market place pronto :/

Its great to see someone at last trying to ACTUALLY decrease one of the bottlenecks thats been plagueing the PC till hopefully now.

Ive noticed on my own system just how much difference increasing your systems memory bandwidth can make so am really looking forward to seeing some gaming benches using this platform :)

AMD are going to be getting a shake in the not so distant future ;)
And this message boards goin to go beserk too :D

Whatever happens I`m not upgrading until end of next year so I`ll let the dust settle & see what is the best route to take,no I`ve not counted Intel out but without AMD pushing them they would be taking it easy(or easier) ,infact my track record is like this AMD,Cyrix,Intel, & now back to AMD.

Rockhard ,yep, the thing I`m happy with also is we have been waiting for new boards & ram for quite a while, so with the speed everything is now moving at who knows what next year will bring.

Heh, AMD and Intel can do what they want for the next 12-18months :D

I just want my NV20/G800/Rampage now, just to polish off my new rig. A GF2 just doesnt do it justice :(

Paulson Maybe at the moment, but with Intel's greater manufacturing capacity and with it taking longer to reconfig their existing plants is only a matter of time before Intel gives AMD some serious competition IMO.
Dont forget that Via will be doing DDR chipsets for the P4 and this will probably help the P4 platform keep up with any AMD platform improvements for the mainstream consumer market ;)
