Quick question:


What are the respective warranties on AMD OEM / Retail CPU's? I have always purchased retail CPU's (usually because of their heatsinks, I'm not a big overclocker) but I think I want to put aftermarket heatsink / fan combos on the dual AMD 2000 MP cpu's. If I buy the retail version and put my own heatsink/fan on it, does it void the extended warranty?
 
OEM has no warranty from AMD. All you get is what the reseller gives you - 15 days for some, 1 year for others. It's usually 15-30 days from most places.

Retail has 3 years. Using your own heatsink/fan does void the warranty however, what they don't know... 🙂
