Those AMD chips are really not "high end" chips anymore.

At least AMD can reclaim it's crown as the value leader again. I saw an "Athlon 64 X2 3800+ with motherboard" combo on sale last week at Fry's for $89. :thumbsup:

I'm so glad I didn't buy that Athlon 64 X2 3800+ combo last summer for $289.

If you are running at stock the 6000+ is a pretty sweet price/performance deal, especially with cheaper AM2 mainboards. Although we are finally starting to see good 965 MB's in the $150US range, you can still do better with AMD.

Intel's price cuts in 2 weeks will bring things back to being even.

If you are overclocking, Intel is still the best bang for buck (and even moreso after the 22nd).

Damn that's cheap. I feel genuinely bad for AMD, this move reeks of desperation. It seemed like they were really on the way up for awhile, too.

I say this with my E4300 humming in my computer, so I guess I don't feel TOO bad. Hopefully Barcelona sets things right, and there's something good on the horizon to beat Perynn.

Amd will be fine once they release their newer processors. This is business and AMD still sells a mountain of chips to OEM's.

Right now im waiting for the price drops on the E6xxx's under the E6600 so I can see whats a better deal.

Right now im leaning to 4800+ w/ Asus SLI combo
