AMD cpu hs/fan question

I have a Sunbeam CoreContact Freezer mounted on my Opteron 140. I want to use this on a new build using a AMD Phenom x4 955. The Sunbeam works on AM2 designs, the 955 is a AM3. I read where the AM+,AM2, and AM3 used the same mounting clips. If this is true, can I use my Sunbeam on a 955?

it should work fine form what i understand. i know AM2+ and AM3 are the same for sure 100% im just not sure about AM2.

I have the Core Contact Freezer and it works fine on AM3 sockets. Been cooling my 955 for over a year.
