AMD cpu and Intel chipset

No you can't. You have to buy a specific mobo for a specific processor.

But you can use an Intel cpu on a VIA chipset. The reverse is not of any use to Intel.

It depends on what AMD CPUs and what Intel chipsets. K7 uses EV6 bus, while P2/3(not sure if P4 is) uses GTL+ bus. those are not compatible.

But I have the old AMD K6 that's in a Intel HX chipset 😀

so it really depends on what generation of CPU and Chipset...
