AMD Cool and Quiet question...

Turn on in BIOS and instead of the rather crappy control by Windows, I would recommend using the application "RMClock" to define speed steps to be used thresholds, etc...

But does it work on auto? I wouldn't even know what would be appropriate settings. I looking for something that I can set and forget 🙂

The tool works very well on auto, yes... just set voltage and multiplier for min and max performance and the tool switches between them in five steps depending on workload.
=> set and forget 😉
You can also override with one click and permanently apply the min or max setting.
Just make sure the min / max voltage set ensures stable operation, especially when overclocking...

I've got the ASUS A8N-SLI mobo that comes with an installation CD that includes the AMD 'cool n quiet' driver, along with the ASUS Cool & Quiet application.

After installing these progs, to enable 'cool n quiet', I have to go back to the BIOS and enable 'cool n quiet' before I can use this feature.
