Wii is a joke, only Nintendo fanbois and households with young children are excused for buying Wii. Although, if I had younger kids I'd still buy a 360 or PS3 and jsut tell my kids to go read a book or do homework or something.

WOW, someone who thinks like me and has eyes! Nice one! We can be best mates now! Shame most other people are blind to this con job by Nintendo....

Excuse me, but the forum for trolling the game consoles is Off-Topic, not Video.

And does anyone else remember how piss-poor the launch titles looked for the previous generation? Wait and see what pops up. :p

True, there is hope for it. If it gets alot better, then it'll reprieve itself!

"The Wii (pronounced as the pronoun "we", IPA: /wi?/) is Nintendo's seventh-generation video game console. Previously known by its project code name of Revolution, it is the successor to the Nintendo GameCube and competes against Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3." From wikipedia.org.

Basically any console that is new is next gen. We are on the 7th gen right now. Xbox PS2 Dreamcast GameCube was the 6th gen. There is no reason Wii is not next gen. It?s CPU and GPU are far better then GameCube?s.

I knew I'd get flamed for this thread...
Which just goes to show that you must like people bashing you.
...but it really had to be done with as many pages that some of the regulars here have ranted on about ATI being a marriage with AMD.
***taps shoulder***, um....yeah, those were in threads discussing the AMD/ATI merger bub. Kinda related then, not so much here. Yours was really just an example of your A.D.H.D ramblings.
Yet theres nothing wrong with pointing out how AMD is referencing ATI as "formerly", at all.
There's also nothing useful in it. Other than you, who cares what they call it?
But theres a lot of people here fighting for the memory of ATI, and the company is just gone.
If you know the people, PM them. I just don't see a logical reason to turn everyone's attention to your drama dance about what they're going to call it.
Though I agree that pretending ATI exists as it did before for one more round with R600 is kinda fun. The game really is over after that..
So you're saying it's gone but not yet?
AMDs running the show now, and that can only mean improvements.
Yeah, because the X1900 was so much worse than the X8 series. God, they haven't been improving anything.
The hatchet needs buried in ATIs memory and only AMD itself will convince these guys.
You're right. So why did you make the thread again? If even you say that "only AMD itself will convince these guys" then what is the point of your thread?
Theres nothing wrong with becoming AMD supporters, but ATI as you knew it is gone..
I have nothing against AMD, unless they produce the same quality of support as I experienced with the former ATI.
And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the reason why Crusader made his self-admitted worthless thread: So that if AMDs GPUs are better than Nvidias he can say that he bought an AMD one instead of admitting he purchased something made by ATI.

Your just as pathetic as you are childish. Grow up and stop trying to invoke arguments about names.

The one other point that needs to be made is; ATI/AMD don't hire trolls to spam worthless drivel on forums to try and make their product look good. And thats the one and only reason I stopped buying nvidia products.

Agreed. Ati does the viral thing, but not so crassly. Whenever I am tempted by nv cards, I think of their viral representatives and barf.

No
That's why I predict Wii will be extremely successful as compared to other new console player such as PS3.
Who needs 1080p in order to play console games?
Not average Joe's income for sure.
Sony has never learned its painful Beta format lesson.

Yeah but for those who have HDTVs it'll look like ass.

Wii(k) would be cool if I was like 5 or 6 years old and that was the only console my mom and dad would get me for Christmas (Gotta be better than V-Flash right?). I dont know how you guys can spend your hard earned cash on something that is so incapable. It doesnt even play DVDs.

I'm pretty impartial on consoles.. because they dont have a history of support quality like NV/ATI.. so to me every new gen is fresh and wipes the slate clean for MS/Sony/Nintendo.

But dont you guys like the Wii controller? I think it looks pretty innovative, and for me its the most intriguing and interesting console of all of them.

Why? Because i already have a high res, high end gaming system that will produce anything any PS3 or 360 can put out.

For my "second system" I've been considering the Wii.
I just view the PS3/Wii as mid-power PC imitators but you are stuck with thumb gymnastics.

I'll take mouse+keyboard, or that wii-mote contraption over some 1980s style gamepad.

I had the Atari, NES, Genesis and N64. Feel like the 360/PS3 are kinda been-there-done-that as far as controls and games are concerned. Maybe its a generation thing, I can see how the younger guys might like the PS3/360.. but PC gaming is more advanced (Medieval 2) and Wii is just a great fun party system (and not to pricey).

Both Microsoft and Sony said that the Wii was a great 2nd system. And I agree, just as a nice 2nd system to my PC. :)

Keep it coming guys. It's a good way to weed out the little children. At least at the mentality level. You know, I could spend an hour, search and dig, and come up with reasons why you should never buy a commercial item ever again, from any company. Actually, any of you can dig a bit and find a reason or two never to buy from a particular company.

"viral" marketing is used by more companies than DAAMIT and Nvidia, I assure you.

i find this rather funny, but when this article says its amd inside, i cant help but look at the case, and see a little ATi near the front. if its amd, then so be it, but why is it still carrying the ATi logo.

edit: and why hate the wii, because of the name, because games dont involve killing people. is that what makes a game "adult" instead of for everyone? because you get to see pointless killing all over the screen, because of games like gta? wow if thats become the standard to judge games to the adult level, then we have all hit a new low in terms of gaming and the gaming industry. why cant games be judged on how much fun it is. like mario kart, you cant tell me that you DONT have fun playing that game with four people playing. or the mario series, or how about smash brothers. the new zelda, is great. im enjoying it.

You missunderstand. It's not the marketing I have issue with, it's the over the top method that nvidia applies to it. Their approach is along the lines of a used car salesmen, and it annoys the hell out of me. Just look at crusaders first post in this thread, what was the point? Was there any information that any of us needed? Was it an interesting read? Was it something that might make us think a little bit? No, no and no. The only reason was to crow, to hold up a big foam rubber finger and shout "nvidia is #1". nvidia can kiss my a$$, and if ATI responds with their own halfwit I'll say the same to them and go buy a ps3.

You guys saying you'll never buy an Nvidia card again cause of "viral marketing" are down right sad. You're disowning Nvidia, but many of you will buy Intel, Microsoft, Sony and other shady companies that rape you for your money at every turn.

You should be old enough and/or mature enough to identify the viral marketing when you see it and use your own knowledge and intelligence to decide if the information they are spewing is worth your time. Regardless of what someone on an internet forum tells you.

This should be the same thought process that goes through your mind when you make decisions in the real world, away from your computer.

As Keysplayr2003 said, viral marketing is used be countless corporate entities lying and stretching the truth to get your money. If viral marketing is such a big deal to you, then you're better off being Amish.

Why are you so supportive of viral marketing? A good product will seed itself and find many fanboys to promote it, without having to place a secret cat among the pigeons.

Anyways back to wii - any games making this a worthwhile buy? That controller does look fun and no need to upgrade my monitor to enjoy the graphics.

I don't think he's showing support at all but rather acknowledging that there really isn't anything we can do but be smart consumers.

I don't have a problem with having HRC members or AEG members on a forum, I do have a problem with idiots though.

LOL, Nintendo has a habit of partnering with companies that are eventually bought out. They worked with ArtX to supply the graphics for the GameCube, only for ATI to buy them up and slap their name on the system. Now they continued work with ATI only for ATI to be bought up by AMD and now AMD is looking to slap their name on the Wii's success.

There's an nvidia GPU in a PS3. Now I suppose you'll boycott those and go Xbox 360? Oh wait, you can't that has an ATI GPU in it. Well, there's always Wii. Oh wait.........

Your right. There is nothing we can do about companys that do things we don't agree with. There is no point in taking any action at all. What we should do is just accept that we have no controll over anything, take whatever they hand us at whatever price they decide to charge, and say thank you.

btw, you need to reread my post, I have no real issue with viral marketing, so you don't need to defend it.
