Drivers working perfectly.
It also seemed to fix the Firefox bug I had where it usually flickered due the memory clock changing (280X here)

Yes they do seem to work nicely. Also, I no longer get weird artifacts/flickering when mining which I got with 13.2.

How do these mine? I guess I'll have to try them out. I don't really get artifacts from mining but I guess that's a good sign if they quit artifacting.

Good to know it's working nicely for people. I'll wait patiently for the WHQL.

What's it's optimization you speak of

AMD stated that the 7000 series cards haven't been optimized in mantle yet. The current drivers are only really for GCN 1.1 gpus. In theory they are supposed to go back and update for GCN 1.0, but who know when that will happen. They might be largely irrelevant by the time they get around to it. It runs on GCN 1.0, but you probably aren't seeing the gains you could.

The gains are there, but there are bugs and issues preventing it from being smooth particularly with CF.

For me many issues are resolved by 14.4 except the VRAM leak that leads to stuttering. VRAM is not released when switching maps like it does in DX 11

I can tell you that even without those so called GCN 1.0 optimization the game flies already in comparison to DX. I would welcome even more perf gains from more optimizations, but Mantle is already night and day on GCN 1.0

Strangely, at every single driver that get uploaded on the web, theres another topic in another forum with people only complaining about problems on drivers.

Reception of newer beta drivers is much better here.

I guess these guys don't even know how to install a beta driver.

That's a pretty big issue. I've tried it over a few versions and while when it worked well it worked way better, it also was very sporadic in working. Stuttering. Low frame rates when dx11 didn't have them (particularly during large explosions) General weirdness in other apps. Its beta and felt like it.

For MP games I'd rather have the low consistent frame rates. I can adjust settings to get the FPS I need. Random glitches and slow down OTOH get you killed.

....and a driver update won't fix that. Mantle puts memory management and CF implementation in the hands of the developer.

That is my experience, that yes the stutters and spikes get you killed. I end up going back to my intel/nvidia system even though I primarily had BF4 in mind for the AMD rig....shrugs....

Does this fix the Windows 8/8.1 wake from sleep BSOD?

I don't think so, or at least they still have issues with the SATA drivers and sleep. I have 2 hard drives, and the 2nd drive doesn't wake up from sleep.
I just tested this out with the 14.4 drivers, and the problem is still there.
However, it is easy enough to do a custom install, skip the SATA drivers,
and still get the goodness of everything else.
