Resolved Issues
60Hz SST flickering has been identified as an issue with non-standard display timings exhibited by the AOC U2868PQU panel on certain AMD Radeon™ graphics cards. A software workaround has been implemented in the AMD Catalyst 14.9 driver to resolve the display timing issues with this display
Users seeing flickering issues in 60Hz SST mode are further encouraged to obtain newer display firmware from their monitor vendor that will resolve flickering at its origin.
Users are additionally advised to utilize DisplayPort-certified cables to ensure the integrity of the DisplayPort data connection.
4K panel flickering issues found on the AMD Radeon R9 290 Series and AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Screen tearing observed on AMD CrossFire systems with Eyefinity portrait display configurations
Instability issues for Grid Autosport when running in 2x1 or 1x2 Eyefinity configurations
Geometry corruption in State of Decay

Known Issues

I wonder if the mixed resolution support improvements will fix the issues with getting eyefinity in portrait mode. I hope so...

These look very nice. Thanks for the heads-up Sam... :)

(As a side note I'd like to thank you guys for implementing 12bpp (deep colour) over HDMI support. Video sure looks nice on my HDTV now...)

On of the betas (14.7?) fixed html5 YouTube videos, uninstall or disable flash in Firefox (probably other browsers too) and it'll switch to html5. Of course it'd be good to confirm if this fixed flash but flash is a virus magnet anyway.

I want to see a full review vs the 970/980 and see if they actually improved.

apparently cata 14.8 is alive and kicking, and it's uninstall manager says:

"There are no components currently installed"

Post the source if possible, because AMD surely tested this update, no.?

Should we give more credit to an anonymous user.?

I do not understand you, but the source is me.

Like hell I will :ninja:
I'll turn to 3rd party only when everything else fails.
I used DDU once or twice before, and not to my entire satisfaction.
It probably wasn't DDU fault but it didn't fix my problem either.

Anyway 14.9 is up and hopefully working:

EDIT:
@rtsurfer
Oh, I see. That's an official AMD unin manager.
I used it already, and that up there is it's output.

Just for the sake of clarity. You know it's a separate utility.??

Not the uninstall option that comes with the regular Catalyst driver.

FYI, the install of these drivers failed on my R9 290. Upon restarting, Catalyst would crash on opening.

I'm currently trying a clean install to see if that works better.

Edit: OK, this is very strange. I express uninstalled all AMD software, and I was left with...Catalyst 14.9 installed on my system, and working perfectly. You read that right - I never reinstalled it after the uninstall, but it was still there. No longer listed in my Windows programs list, so as far as Windows is concerned, there are no AMD apps on my system.

Very strange. Going to try a game or two now to see if it's actually functioning.

I'm not so sure tbh.
And you know you can run offic. AMD Cata Install Manager from Windows Programs/Features by choosing "Change" tab?

Also that thing is from 2013.
And I can not even download it:

Is there an official link?

Hmm.

I tried looking for it, its gone from their website.
I remember downloading it from their own site & using it successfully multiple times in March. Still have it somewhere on my HDD.

Since you look like the type that plays its safe avoid using it.
Sorry.

Just to clarify, it was official though

You seem to have problems every time a new driver is released for your "AMD" card...there's quite a few install guides out there on the Net and probably a lot of people here who install them with no problems.
Perhaps someone can guide you through the process a few times...

If you have windows 8 you would want to use version 1.400 as the version 1.2 will delete necessary registry keys and ruin your windows install if running 8.

Termie, I had a more difficult problem. It appeared the drivers were installed but Catalyst Manager would not run. I finally downloaded the AMD uninstall utility and took out all of the AMD drivers. The catalyst manager apparently did not uninstall them.

Anyway after a lot of frustration it worked. I now have the 14.9 drivers installed.

I had no installation issues on Windows 8.1 x64 and have not experienced the sleep/black screen bug... yet....

The black screen bug I have is when first turning the computer on and before I can log on, the screen goes black. Only a reboot will fix, but this only occurs about 10% of the time I power the computer on. No issues other than that and maybe 14.9 fixed it for me.... I'll report back if it happens again.

The new 14.9 drivers upped my 3D 2013 Firestrike scores. The scores for the 14.9 drivers are on the left and the scorers for the 14.4 drivers are on the right.
