Any updated Win 8.1 preview as well?

Edit: It seems this driver set does support the Win 8.1 preview.

Most interesting to me is the note it resolves corruption issues in Rome Total War 2. With all the talk of how glitchy the game is, I wonder how much of that is on the driver side.

Someone mentioned on the total war forums saying that AMD and Nvidia weren't able to get their hands on the game till release, which might explain lack of optimization for Rome 2.

Ohhhh...will try these tonight 😀

Reading the notes, wonder if they've address the 99% Slave card issue...

Hmmm....

this is different:

Feature Highlights of The AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta Driver for Windows:

PCI-E bus speed is no longer set to x1 on the secondary GPU when running in CrossFire configurations

Known issue for 13.8Beta 2 was worded like this:

Known Issues of The AMD Catalyst 13.8 Beta2 Driver for Windows:
  • CrossFire configurations (when used in combination with Overdrive) can result in the secondary GPU usage running at 99%
  • Enabling CrossFire can result in the PCI-e bus speed for the secondary GPU being reported as x1
Now, reporting != set. If the BUS was set to 1x on the secondary card (ie the slave) wouldn't that sort of explain why the card would peg at 99%? Wouldn't it be sort of bottlenecked?

Eager to test this driver out now.

Reading some posts over at Guru3D tells me the issue still exists for some users. That makes me a sad panda.

Glad I found this. Just started Rome II and noticed the corruption and poor performance with a heavily overclocked system.

I have the 8.1 installed right now.
Whats the difference between the 13.9 and 13.10beta. Which one should I install.
I'm running 7970CF 🙂

Yeah if you have Crossfire you definitely want 13.10 in order to get the new framepacing setting to help smooth out microstutter.

I've had these drivers sad face Windows 8.1 twice in the last week. These are not completely stable.

I had these sad face again yesterday. Seems to always happen when I go out to do some lawn chores and I'm away from my computer for awhile.

I'm guessing it may have something to do with the display going into suspend/hibernate mode. When I come back in the sad face is there.
