I hope they realized there were already fixes for CF scaling in Skyrim only a few days after release... i guess it took them this long because they probably tested whether it broke other stuff by making this fix. So this driver should work fine *fingers crossed*.

This driver fix is mostly for Batman: AC. Not sure if you guys read the awful DX11 performance. This Driver increased my DX11 performance in the 80% range.

Still slowdown in some points (most likely still a Game patch is required) but it makes DX11 useable on AMD hardware.

No, these are broken drivers too. Black Ops causes an instant hard lock when trying to load an MP map. This seems to be present in all the versions I've tried since the 11.9's (though I'm not sure I tried the vanilla 11.11's), unfortunately the 11.9's and 11.8's have a horrible texture flashing bug that pops up randomly in Blops so you really have to go all the way back to the 11.7's to have a fully working driver in that game. Of course if you're not running the latest driver quite a few new games are broken/perform horribly so you're screwed either way. Every new driver is breaking something else it seems.

Even being a person that usually leans toward the red team whenever perfomance is relatively close, I'm really becoming quite tired of AMD dropping the ball with their driver releases the past few months. I can't imagine I'm alone in this. Sadly, I believe I'll head toward nVidia this next round unless AMD really just blows them out the water.

I don't doubt that nV is having their share of driver problems, just as in the past AMD has, but it has gotten ridiculous lately with AMD. Driver after driver and one hotfix after another, they are fixing one thing and breaking something else. I can overlook some obscure title having compatibility broken as things will slip by but this is happening on major game releases. I mean really, like the game or not, breaking driver compatibility on a recent COD title??? That's just an obvious no-no, and not for one driver release or in one temporary hot fix for the latest blockbuster....but it's been broken since the 11.7 Catalyst, that's unacceptable. They are still trying to "fix" issues with Rage, a game most of us have long since completed and stopped playing. Not to place the blame on them neccesarily as that lies as much with id as anyone but still.

Yeah AMD's drivers have always seemed a bit shotty to me. Stuff here and there just doesn't work, like Doom3 engine games with multiple monitors. have to turn off 2nd monitor to play (Quake Wars: Enemy Territory).

No recent issues with amd drivers for me.

Only issue is when i close msi afterburner i get a popup error from the control panel but no big deal.

Was gonna stick to a gtx570 for my upcoming build but HARDOPS review on performance between the 6950 and the gtx570 put them in the same performance range in BF3.

Thoughts?

The biggest problem is the games. They are buggy as hell on release. nVidia and AMD are than left to try and sort out what they can along with patches from the game devs. Don't be too surprised when it takes AMD longer to fix a TWIMTBP title, or the other way around on a Gaming Evolved title.

It's way more of an issue today as companies try to cut corners and port stuff over to the PC from an Xbox 360.
