Pretty stupid to say the least, because during the London launch event of the Evergreen family, there were M$ reps present. AMD has been working with M$ on dx11, I mean how could they not. So M$ is aware, but the guy either got bought of or had a complete mental breakdown :p

What hardware do you think M$ tests DX11 functionality in Windows 7 with?

Damn, that's pretty sad. I guess AMD needs to start passing around envelopes of Cash.

They just might, if they had it. And Huddy states he's an engineer, not a marketer? I'll be damned if he couldn't fit right in to the marketing dept. Especially after the comment about Nvidia not caring about his mother. LMAO. :)

wreckage told me about that dude with 7 es gt300 cards. he probably got them when MS was done testing win 7 with them.

regardless of "why" it happened amd needs to pull their head out of their ass and use this passing advantage to effect. Nvidia is sure to come back as strong as ever, it might be many many years before this happens again.

Microsoft reps at the London launch event yesterday mentioned NVIDIA as a partner for DX11 without mentioning AMD

I bet they know something we don't

DX11 is out today and AMD is there, enabling people
Enabling people to do what? There are no real games yet.

It's funny that Thilan posts this clearly inflammatory article and yet the same people who crapped all over my patent thread are strangely silent here. I wonder why?

I've seen you mention this in another thread...do you have any arguments for not considering Battleforge a real game?

I'm going to stoop as low as it gets, and reply.

Thilan makes a lot of threads containing links to other websites, which he finds interestings. This is one of those threads. You're pretty much as biased as people get, Thilan isn't.

And DX11 enables more fps in Battleforge, allows you to drool at the unigine-benchmark, and oh, you can drag and drop video's to a mediaplayer no-one has in Windows 7, and the gpu converts those video's. It's great don't you think? It's kinda like physx...

Don't bother replying.

Honestly I want you to take this the right way. It is one thing to report on various goings on around the industry, it is another to attempt to find controversy where there is none. I'm not saying what happened in your patent thread was justified, but it wasn't surprising.

When you find some perspective, you will understand where I'm coming from.

Come-on now, at least read the link before commenting. Your argument is already answered there

We should change the title of this thread to "ATI marketing is so crappy that they aren't even invited to the dance when they have the only girl in town".

This sounds very much like a marketing talk from an engineer.

Eh? Since when are Battleforge and Stalker Call of Prpipyat not real games? The latter is already out in Russia BTW.

I?m not saying this is necessarily ATi?s doing, but one month after DX11 hardware we already have two games that support it. That uptake is far faster than DX10?s, and possible even DX9?s too.

Wreckage has made it clear that he's firmly entrenched in the green camp, so you can't really hold a legitimate argument with him because in the land of fanboys, logic doesn't fly.

Nah they're just telling it like it is. Beyond that, AMD isn't that much different than Nvidia. The real truth is they just are strapped for cash and can't afford to spend as much on marketing as Nvidia does. If the financial tables were turned I'm pretty certain that AMD would be doing the exact same thing.

The article is just as much about AMD's failings (there's no reason (unless it would have cost them a ridiculous amount of money) AMD should have allowed themselves to be left out of that launch) as it is about nV's business practices (which is what I'm guessing you think the article is only about). Actually I blame MS more than anyone else for that.

honestly, amd's marketing team seems to have done slightly better over the past year or two, but we can't escape one thing: the president of nvidia is a marketing genius, the president of amd and, before them, ati, is NOT a marketing genius. Does nvidia go overboard sometimes? sure they do, but I've never seen them miss the table even when they have no eating utensils until this recent 5xxx launch. That's what has me so freaked out. that article that wreckage linked had a question for JHH about fermi's gaming performance. He dodged the question!!! Huang has literally taken nothing and in 20 years turned it into a $10 billion company. He's a good engineer without a doubt, but he's a GREAT marketer, so when they asked him that question and he didn't talk about opening a can of whoop ass my jaw dropped. It doesn't make sense that this could happen, but I wouldn't be surprised now if gtx 380 has trouble beating 5870 right now. I know how great fermi's tech specs look, but they have claimed from day 1 that gpgpu is their growth area, they're later than shit, and remember that 2900xt looked a LOT better on paper than 8800gtx.

Maybe wreckage can go to a quaddro forum and talk shit about the green team's 95% control of THAT market...

because the OP doesn't have a history of spreading misinformation and sounding like a broken record.

Maybe some day if you learn to chill out you'll get some respect and some actual listeners.

Anyways, News is News folks and this is just with nothing concrete going on

How does this make you happy? Why does this make you happy? I'm very confused and possibly disturbed with the results these questions might produce from you.

My mama says that happiness comes from the sun and rains down upon us when we are sad.

I personally have 3 Nvidia cards right now

1 GTX280 and 2 9600 Gt's so I definately have hepled out that 70% rating. However, shortly I will be sporting something a little bit different ;)
