Good thing I'm sticking with nvidia... Seems like every single time an ATI driver update is released, people have issues. When is another "hotfix" going to be released again? lol

I have upgraded regularly from Cats 9.7 to 10.6 on the 4890 and have not had a single issue/BSOD with any of them.

Is this a troll thread? I had a 5850 and it ran great now I have a 470 superclock evga and now Im having driver issues. It happens to everyone.

I'm actually missing my 5850:(

If you read the link I provided from AMD's own forums I doubt you'd call me out as a troll. :(

Just trying to inform the community.
This is the reason why I haven't upgraded my drivers yet.

@ Russian , I think it might be a 5xx series problem.

it must be crossfire cause I am using a 5850 and have no issues with the 10.6s. With my old nvidia card I constantly got the driver has stopped responding crash.

I did put crossfire in the OP, but I guess nobody noticed.

It seems to be any crossfired cards, 3800, 4800, 5700, 5800 series.

Get a crossfire setup, win7 and that patch, then write on this forum about having or not having a problem with it.
If you are going to write every little thing about some drivers being wrong or right, i suggest you start posting some nvidia crap topics too. Cause we all know, just checking EVGA forums, that there are ALOT of problems with geforce drivers/cards as well.

Now you "just trying to inform the community" is as weak a defence as it can get. We know where your stock is.

Wow, a sad troll thread quoting a sad troll thread on amd forums. Those guys must have 5 posts between them. I love the guys on with their first post ever - stating they also have that problem and just needed to register.

Viral advertising is finding a new low.

Why would I be on a Evga driver page when I have a ATI card?
I don't own a Nvidia card ,why would I worry about that?

You on the other hand seem to own a ATI card and posted about a EVGA card forum.? Who's the troll?

That's not a troll thread on the AMD forum, that was my first post over there as well but I've been on here for quite some time and I doubt anyone would call me an nVidia fan. It's a legit and completely repeatable issue with a very specific error. Now from what it looks like over on that thread it's all crossfire/win7 x64 users, and from the number of posts it's looks like it's not very widespread.

I apologize than, the thread at amd zone was not a troll thread. Looks like the trolls jumped on the train.

4870 here, regularly updating my Catalyst drivers since I bought my Radeon X1900XT years ago, I forget the revision, only had one or two problems in all the years since.

I don't run a CrossFire set up though, so I suppose there could be some problems there. Is an issue that effects .0001% of the total market a critical issue? It'll be addressed in a hotfix in a day or so and resolved in 10.7 next month.

No crossfire here, but my 4870 and my brothers 5770 work fine with 10.6

I have 5850s in xFire and 10.6 without any problems yet.
2 rigs running 5870s CF, no issues here thus far. i think this may actually be the first time im not having crashing issues from my card at all (after running it for days on end under milkyway), my damn windows install must have just been unstable since i moved from my 9800GTX

No problems here, Win7 x64 with a 4870x2.

The problem seems to affect all Crossfire Setups (including 38xx and 48xx) according to the AMD forum posts.

Medium- thanks for posting the thread. It's better to know the potential issues associated w/ the CCC update then not.

I after reading the first page of the thread it looks like this problem was solved for a few people but just doing an uninstall and running driver sweeper before installing the new drivers. Doesn't seem like rocket science...

When either AMD or Nvidia releases an absolutely perfect driver, let me know.

only goes out to show it is a good idea to stop being a lazy ass do a clean install...

also shows that you really need to read stuff first to tell stuff worthy of posting from those that aren't...

yea i think the issue i was having prior to trying to install 10.6 (it simply wouldnt run right before i did a fresh win7 install) was the fact that i have gone through every driver release since 9.10 including beta driver releases, and 3 nvidia driver releases with my 9800GTX before that, and i did an upgrade install from vista to 7. system normally would BSOD about once a day since i installed 10.5, was BSODing about once every 2-3 with 10.4, but yet my other comp, which is exactly the same in every way thats driver related, hasnt had a single issue and it's gone through the same driver update process. you REALLY need to do a fresh install from time to time, and while its awesome that you can install a graphics driver in windows vista and 7 without even a reboot, that's probably part of why my system got so garbled over time, especially once i started caring about every second of down time on my milkyway@home clients, since i did 8 driver updates at least without so much as running CCleaner lmao
