Customer Service is taking days to just spew out random misinformation?
This does not speak very well for AMD/ATI Support 😛

Any new word on what driver one should use?

I have a hard time believing that this is so. Wouldn't it have been a note in a driver release?

Well that was disappointing:

CSR: For crossfire it is recommended to use the latest Catalyst drivers. Currently the latest drivers are the Catalyst 7.1 drivers and can be found directly on our website under drivers and software link.

Microcenter has the X1950Pro on sale for $199, if anyone has a MC nearby and only one X1950Pro in their SLI board. I believe I read that the X1950Pro doesn't require (nor has) a crossfire sister card.

I think MC still has a forgiving return policy.
