Usually the processors are poo brown but our latest shipment, their all green, wtf

They are clearly just regular ole' XP's and nothing else HRMMM....

any thoughts?

first they name their athlon a "4", to capitolize on intel's p4.
then they name their athlon an "xp", to capitolize on ms's os.
then they name their athlon with a higher number, to capitolize on intel's higher clockspeed.
now they color their cpu packages green. coincidence that intel's cpu's have been green for a while? i doubt it.

I've tried green 1500+ XP. Runs fine at 1500Mhz (no voltage increase), 1550Mhz seems stable but I've got no time for normal test (48 hours torture 🙂)

LOL

Everything but the last one made sense.........why the hell would AMD want to intentionally "copy" the P3 design?? Its a generation behind the Athlon!

You saw Cheech and Chong riding around in that van made of weed, right? It's AMD's new "organic" casing😉

I see, I haven't compared the stepping to the 1600+ I have in my home box yet, wonder if they are any more overclockable, currently I run 142fsb and still have a locked 1600+ brown core hmm oh well

Who cares? Isn't green more beautiful than your crap anyway?

Then why dye them green?

Well, AMD Died the Green because AMD Corporate Color is Green. So they are just sticking with company tradition.

The real question should be why didn't Intel color their chips Blue?

LOL. Maybe the writting "Intel inside" is in blue.....LOL again.

Same reason the PCB is green (or "poo brown") on every single component you can buy. They could probably make them hot pink if they wanted to. It's probably just like they did with the Thunderbird core, it used to be only two colors, but now they come in all sorts of colors.

Anyway, what does it matter? It's not like anyone that's uninlightened enough to fall for marketing is ever going to see what the processor looks like.
