Well the differences arnt something you are going to see in the specs.....

The E3's supposed to OC better. E6's are still good if you dont plan on OC, or OC very much. E6's also have a better memory controller as well from what I understand.

So if you plan to run stock, I say who cares. Overclocking, get an E3. I just recently bought one off these forums for $115 shipped.

I'm testing right now, but I think my mobo is limiting me. I can hit 2.5GHz @ 1.55V. Not impressive to me *shrug* But if you wanna buy it....:D

With my E3 3200+ venice, I can hit 2.6 on 1.4 volts and stock cooling. If I want to get 2.7, I have to jump it up to 1.5 volts, though.

Thanks for the information guys. I am now thinking of doing an Opteron instead thanks to the new S939 Opterons...maybe even the Dual-Core Opteron 165. Anyone got more than 700 MHz overclock with air?

I don't personally believe the E3 are better ocers then the E6. I think the reason people seem to think the E3 are such good ocers is because of the initial Venice E3 reviews which were very impressive with most reviewers achieving at least 2.6ghz on air with little or no vmod. However as it turns out, these were with the reviewer samples, generally ABBLEs.

Many of us such as me who purchased E3 Venices didn't get such impressive clocks. We still got quite impressive clocks. I've been busy so not 100% sure of my ceiling but it appears to be at least 2.4ghz but I def can't reach 2.6ghz even with 1.65V. Of course, 2.4ghz from my 1.8ghz is a very good oc but by no means the wonder we were expecting. More importantly I haven't yet seen any evidence E6 doesn't OC about the same.
