Hoping someone here can clear some stuff up for me. I have read on several web boards that the AMD T-bred "A" and "B" procs come unlocked for higher multiplieres. I have since read that if you have a KT400 or nForce2 based mobo and T-bred chip is completely unlocked (Higher and LOWER multipliers) so long as you have the newest bios update. Here is a snipet of what I saw at guru3d.com
quote:
Epox has made it possible to have processors that are multiplier unlocked on AMD retail Athlons. This means you will be able to overclock your CPU just by plugging in it into the board, and then overclocking at will, because of the voltage and other settings Epox includes.
I have seen many web posts supporting this. At first it seemed to work like this. The T-breds come factory unlocked for the HIGHER multis. Meaning you can get multipliers 13+. Now the abit/epox kt400 boards will unlock them for ALL multis. There is no need to connect ANY bridges. If you connect the last bridge of the L3s You lose access to the higher multis and only have access to 12.5 and below. If you wanted your T-bred fully unlocked just pop it into one of the new abit/epox motherboards it's just that simple. From what I have seen since it now works with all KT400 and nForce2 boards. Because of money woe my new system won't be up until late January so I can't test this myself, but maybe there is someone on these boards who can? Someone with a nForce2 board or a KT400?
