Last month I bought new PCChips M811U mobo with Athlon XP 2400+ now my cpu died last week so I got new 64-bit mobo and cpu and I decided to give pcchips mobo to my friend but she wants me to replace cpu I don't see Atlhon XP at the stores anymore. Is Sempron really replaced Althon XP?
I checked with pcchips websites and give little info on which cpu it will support with latest BIOS upgrade.
I don't want to do anything wrong with cpu purchase.

If the board has the latest BIOS, it should support a socket 462/A Sempron.

Yeah, the s462 sempron will cost you more than an eqivilantly powered Athlon XP, but it will work.
